MY STORY
Hello, I’m Sandra Sauer. And I've been tidying up, folding, decluttering and organizing since before it was popular! When I was younger I would organize and reorganize my bedroom until it couldn't be organized anymore. I then did the same thing to my friends' bedroom as well as their kitchens, bathrooms, and garages. My mom encouraged me to tidy-up, declutter and organize at a young age. Like-mother-like-daughter!
After receiving a technician position at Johns Hopkins University, I quickly tidied-up and organized each work space. I started organizing drawers, closets, and shelves: because when you need something immediately you don’t have time to look around for where it might be! So with no wasted time, I was always able to put my finger on the exact instrument or tool I was looking for, as well as my co-workers, who greatly appreciated my excitement and capability to organize the laboratory so everyone was able to work more efficiently in the newly organized laboratory.
I developed charts, for things such as surgical records and equipment maintenance, which were a big part of the organizing process while at JHU. Today, I continue to make charts for my clients who are taking several medications at different times of the day so they can remember when to safely take the correct dose at the proper time.
As time passed I found myself tidying up, decluttering and organizing the church kitchen, pantry, linens, craft closets and Sunday School rooms so that anyone who needed something in these areas knew right where to go to retrieve any item they needed. And once again I would make charts so folks would need to just check off what was in need of purchasing.
Now I have my own family. I assist in running three home businesses, raising three daughters and homeschooling; all of this (you can imagine) requires systems, which are put into place in our home so our daily routines ran smoothly.
A few years ago while my aunt was still with us; she and I started the process of downsizing her 50+ years of memories with the hopes that she would be able to move out of her family home and into a retirement community. The opportunity to assist in this process was a privilege to get to know her better and explore old memories together. We started out with her many piles of paperwork, making sure her affairs were in order, which in hindsight was a blessing. We then started to work through each room. I will remember those special times together forever.
A few months into the process my aunt became ill and passed suddenly. While this was devastating for those she left behind; I found comfort knowing that I had spent those precious months with her, uninterrupted by life’s circumstances. After she passed I inherited her home as well as her belongings.
It wasn’t the same continuing the downsizing process without my aunt but now with a new goal in mind I pressed forward not downsizing but decluttering her home. Within a few months I continued sifting through her belongings and donating items, in honor of her. I donated to those who could use what she left behind. This included family members, as well as a local church who continue to use her books in their library. Her hearing aids were sent to a ministry where someone else would be the recipient of better hearing. She would have been delighted to be a part of each of these lives.
Today, I find myself helping folks like you to downsize, declutter and organize without any prejudice for those who need my services. I have had the privilege of downsizing many folks who are looking to move on without all of the items in their life. When they are finished the downsizing process they love the feeling that they will not have to move all of the unnecessary items into their new spaces. I have worked through whole homes – in each nook-n-cranny of a home where my clients are donating items they no longer need to someone who is able to use them.
I have worked in attics, basements, kitchens, closets, offices, downsizing and organizing paperwork, crafts, linens, and clothes. I love clutter – the more clutter -the happier I am. I enjoy projects where there is lots of clutter, and clients who are ready to let go of their clutter and start their new life clutter-free, with a fresh start!
Call me today if you are ready to declutter your 50+ years of the family home or are just starting to declutter your master closet. There will be no judgement here; just excitement as you receive More Space. More Time. Less Stress.
If you live in Baltimore County Maryland or the surrounding areas call me to discuss your needs - 410-812-5731, I look forward to working with you soon.
